ANTOINE RASPAL, THE ART OF PROVENCAL ELEGANCE
The Provencal Costume & Jewellery Museum will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2017. To celebrate the occasion, Maison Fragonard is hosting a major exhibition in its two Grasse-based museums on the work of Arles-born artist Antoine Raspal (1738-1811).
The Jean-Honoré Fragonard Museum will be unveiling paintings and drawings by the artist, some shown for the first time.
The exhibition will be continuing at the Provencal Costume & Jewellery Museum with a brand-new layout showcasing historic textile items, some of which may have been worn by the artist’s models. Throwing bridges between couture and art, this intricately-woven exhibition is a genuine voyage into the inner world of Provence and its fashions, society and lifestyle...
