FRAGONARD LOVES
WILD ROSE

In the language of flowers, the wild rose (Églantine in French) symbolizes poetry. Its porcelain pink flower buds emerge like a beautiful mirage amid brambles and underwoods. It is the ancestor of the rose bush found in our tamed gardens. Also referred to as "dog rose", it has grown naturally in our forests since ancient times.

WHY IS FRAGONARD
CALLED FRAGONARD ?

When he arrived in Grasse, Eugène Fuchs - great-grandfather of the current directors - an entrepreneur at heart, conquered by the magic of perfume, decided to create his own company. Thus in 1926, the Parfumerie Fragonard was born. He chose this name as a tribute to the most famous child of the city of Grasse: the painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732-1806). The choice of the name Fragonard was also guided by his desire to thank the town that had welcomed him and his family, and to identify his perfumery with the refinement of the 18th century arts.
