Perched between sea and mountains, Grasse enjoys a rare balance: abundant sunshine tempered by altitude; generous rainfall that nourishes the soil; cool nights that concentrate the aromas. The May roses bloom here with unmatched intensity, and the jasmine finds such rich soil that it is said to be more heady than elsewhere. Each petal becomes a promise of essence, each field, an open-air laboratory.

Mimosa, rose, orange blossom, tuberose, jasmine… these are the famous perfume flowers cultivated in Grasse, the capital of French perfumery. For its hundredth anniversary, the Maison Fragonard createdL’ Air de Grasse, a tribute to the city where it was born: a scented air where the most exquisite fragrances come together in Provençal style. The L' Air de Grasse collection tells the story of a traditional, family-run perfumery that has been writing its history since 1926.



L'AIR DE GRASSE BY FRAGONARD
A creation by Karine Dubreuil-Sereni

Born in Grasse, Karine Dubreuil-Sereni signs a new creation for the House of Fragonard, a perfume that is like a declaration of love to her hometown. For L' Air de Grasse, she drew upon her childhood olfactory memories, from flower-filled gardens to scented hills and Southern light. True to her delicate and luminous style, she composes here a colorful floral bouquet.

ORIGIN

Inspired by the breeze that sweeps across the Grasse region, from the Mediterranean to the hills of Haute-Provence,
the L' Air de Grasse collection reflects an olfactory heritage shaped by centuries of cultivation and production.

Blended with sea breeze and Southern light, the air is also a symbol. Myths have always attributed a special power to it: in ancient Greece, each wind had its own name and character (Boreas, Zephyr, Eurus), sometimes bringing storms, sometimes promises of love. For the ancient Egyptians, the divine breath animated the universe; for the Hindus, the god Vayu embodies prana, the vital breath that flows through every being. For Native American peoples, the wind was a spirit, a messenger of the ancestors and guardian of the sacred directions.

Everywhere, it was more than a mere breeze: a voice, a presence, an invisible energy. So why not imagine it here as a perfumer, too? Perfume historians describe the air of Grasse as an olfactory universe enriched by centuries of expertise and harvests.

A reality transfigured by literature: Patrick Süskind, in Perfume, turns Grasse into a mythical place where the flower-saturated atmosphere becomes almost tangible. For Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, the novel’s main character, every scent is a raw material to grasp, every fragrance a substance to sculpt. Between myth and history, reality and imagination, L’ Air de Grasse breathes a joyful and fragrant breeze.

L’ Air de Grasse is scented with rose, peony, and jasmine, with a hint of mandarin for a touch of sweetness, and a noble trail of iris and patchouli.

Through its notes of jasmine and orange blossom, the diffuser evokes the sun-drenched gardens of Grasse. The freshness of bergamot and lemon dances with mandarin, before softening into the woody warmth of cedar and sandalwood. A fragrance that brings the light of the Riviera into your home.
